Impact Expansion is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to acquire a minority stake in SomniPlanet, a French-based company providing homecare treatments to patients suffering from sleep apnea. New funds will support a buy-and-build strategy in France and Impact Expansion expects to deploy up to €15m over time. Financial terms were not disclosed. 

SomniPlanet is headquartered in Neuilly-sur-Seine (France) and was founded in 2017 by its current management team led by Yann Goïot, Olivier Félix and Johann Sasco. Its primary mission is to better treat a rapidly increasing number of patients suffering from sleep apnea.

According to a recent research study, this under-diagnosed chronic disease has become a major healthcare challenge affecting one in three people worldwide and leading to co-morbidities such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and stroke. Today, SomniPlanet treats several thousands of patients located in the Ile-de-France region and plans to grow nationally.

SomniPlanet has developed its own proprietary data-driven integrated model, delivering superior patients’ adherence to treatment, high patient well-being and satisfaction with proven health and cost outcomes. This proprietary model also helps doctors in their day-to-day work, allowing them to spend more time with their patients.

SomniPlanet works with doctors, nurses and psychologists to better engage patients, having a direct positive impact on their compliance rates. SomniPlanet’s integrated collaborative platform was designed to onboard other homecare services such as nutrition, diabetes, perfusion, ventilation and insulin therapies affecting millions of patients, costing more than €3bn per year to the French healthcare system.

SomniPlanet contributes to SDG #3 (good health and well-being), SDG #8 (decent work and economic growth) and SDG #9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure).

Since its foundation, SomniPlanet has collaborated in several clinical studies relating to sleep, remote patient monitoring in disease management, and sleep tech. As such, SomniPlanet is perceived as an innovative company paving the way to future connected healthcare models.
