Innovative Finance - Senior Analyst or Associate

Responsibilities:

You will work on a diverse set of activities:

  • Conduct problem solving, research and quantitative analyses on key development and social topics

  • Contribute to the design and structuring of innovative finance products such as Social/Development Impact Bonds and blended finance instruments

  • Develop and deliver structured communication to clients

  • Participate in asset management activities (e.g., deal-sourcing, due diligence, or social impact reporting)

  • Support business development efforts (e.g., research and design new investments opportunities, outreach with potential partners and clients)

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Engineering, Economics or a related field. MBA is a plus

  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in finance or in management consulting

  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in a social, development or environmental topic

  • Skillset:

    • Strong analytical skills: ability to drive workstreams independently, good command of and ability to apply main finance concepts. Excel modelling skills and relevant sector/topic experience (e.g. development finance, blended finance) are a plus

    • Project management skills: ability to manage workstreams independently. Experience in managing analysts is a plus

    • Client management: ability to present effectively and build strong relationship with clients

  • Full working proficiency (spoken and written) in English. Other languages (in particular Dutch and/or French) are a plus

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Innovative Finance - Intern

KOIS is recruiting an intern with strong interest in the impact finance space. Working in an internationally pioneering, entrepreneurial and sustainability committed environment, the candidate will take part to innovative finance projects with a diversity of global organisations around key social and environmental issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, structuring and fundraising of innovative impact finance products to fund social and environmental initiatives, such as Social Impact Bonds and Development Impact Bonds

  • Conduct data and policy analyses on the related topics (e.g. job market integration and livelihoods, menstrual hygiene management, water security and energy access in conflict zones)

  • Support business development efforts (e.g. drafting presentations & investment pitches, research new investments opportunities)

  • Support further business needs (e.g. external communications, CRM database management)

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Engineering, Economics or a related field with strong academic record. A Master’s degree in similar areas is preferred

  • Strong and demonstrable social drive 

  • Entrepreneurial, proactive work style

  • Rigorous and analytical mindset 

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite

  • Working proficiency (spoken and written) in English is required, additional command of French and/or Dutch is preferred

  • Experience in building financial models and conducting enterprise valuation is a plus, as well as experience with innovative social finance instruments (e.g. development finance, blended finance)

External Communications Manager

KOIS is recruiting talent with a strong interest in pursuing a communications career in the area of impact investing and innovative social finance. Working in an entrepreneurial environment with an international team deeply committed to sustainability, the candidate will have the opportunity to manage external communications of a pioneering organisation in a growing sector.

Responsibilities

  • You will manage the external communication tools of KOIS by:

    • Drafting our annual impact report in collaboration with a graphic designer

    • Supervising the website redesign by an external company and keeping it updated

    • Tracking progress of projects/investments and identify moments when worthwhile communicating about progress (e.g., launch and results of impact bonds, successes of investee companies)

    • Managing specific communication campaigns

    • Feeding our social media accounts (LinkedIn and Twitter)

    • Manage the internal and external communications involved in our recruitment processes

 

  • You will manage relations with key external stakeholders of KOIS and support business development efforts by:

    • Nurturing investor/donor relationships with regular exchanges, organisation of networking events

    • Managing KOIS membership and branding on impact investing networks (e.g., Tent, GIIN, TONIIC)

    • Attending conferences/workshops on innovative/blended finance to represent KOIS, meet stakeholders and identify potential partners/investors

    • Supporting the implementation of the new CRM tool

 

  • You will manage external information in the impact investing and innovative finance sector by:

    • Reading newly released reports on blended finance/innovative finance (e.g., Convergence, Blended Finance Taskforce)

    • Keeping the team updated on innovations and pioneering models in the sector (e.g., building slides on new topics for client presentations, updating impact bond database)

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, International Development, Economics, Finance, or a related field from a top university

  • Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in communications, including significant track record on financial topics and to some extent on social/environmental issues

  • Skillset:

    • Strong written communication skills: ability to use appropriate language for each communication platform, write articles and reports that reflect logical thinking, convey emotions to readers about social and environmental topics

    • Strong oral communication skills: ability to represent KOIS effectively and present/pitch our work to a large range of stakeholders, build senior level relationships with potential clients, excellent interpersonal skills

    • Eager to learn, read and teach about impact investing and innovative finance

  • Proficiency in communication tools (including Microsoft Office Suite, websites, LinkedIn and Twitter), experience with graphic design tools and affinity with video/photography are a plus

  • Demonstrated fluency (spoken and written) in English (proficiency in Dutch or French a plus)

  • Entrepreneurial mind-set, creative thinking and proactive workstyle
